What?? National Student Conclave
APTA's STUDENT conference. It's ALL students!
When?? October 30-Nov 1
Who?? Any student in the professional phase! Remember you need to attend 1 conference. This one being in Milwaukee is a great way to NETWORK with companies in the area at the EXPO for potential jobs in the future! Get your face and name out there, even if you are a 4!
What do we do?? Each conference has a schedule of events. From the opening ceremony, to speakers and sessions through out the day, plus additional fun sessions geared toward students in the evening, and of course the best part, while SPTs work hard, we definitely know how to PLAY hard too!
Marquette Challenge Social?? It's free? Yes!! And the first 350 students in attendance get a FREE DRINK TICKET! We hope to see you all there on Thursday Evening!
Good tips: While MUPT is a 6 year program... most other programs are just graduate schools. Get used to introducing yourself as a: 1st year (4s) 2nd year (5s) or a 3rd year (6s)
Rumor on the street is I can get Reimbursed??
BOTH UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR NSC REIMBURSEMENT but the funding is coming from different sources.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FOR NSC ENDS ON 9/26/14 -- FRIDAY!!

MUSG STUDENT ACTIVITY FEE FUNDS
DPT 4s & 5s who are considered undergraduate students attending the NSC conference are able to be
supported by funds from MUSG Student Activity Fee
We must distribute fund according to what was approved by MUSG:
Undergraduate Student will receive $70 from MUSG, $15 from MUPT Council toward $130 Early Bird Conference Registration
It is an expectation from the MUPT Program that anyone who receives financial support is expected to attend the entire conference unless you have a class conflict.
(The exception only potentially applies to DPT 4s for NSC)

Stride & Glide for Independence First
Author: Kristen Seroka
This semester our class volunteered at the Stride & Glide race to raise money for Independence First. Independence First is a local organization which provides assistance to persons with disabilities through discounted equipment, resources, adaptive sports and activity opportunities, and various other services. MUPT works directly with this organization through the Adaptive Abilities Club at Marquette in sports such as downhill skiing, water skiing, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair basketball.
The DPT 4 students had a great Saturday morning at the Milwaukee Zoo, volunteering as race course volunteers, visiting with the animals, getting to know some of the race participants and their families, and finishing off with a little Zumba! This fundraising will allow for Independence First to continue their commitment to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities and MUPT students were proud to help in any way possible while having a lot of fun along the way!
